2016 Miss Ambassador for Peace” beauty pageant

<img height="221" src="http://i1.wp.com/supremetv.info/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/IMG-20160930-WA0009.jpg?resize=660%2C365" width="400" /><br />picked Miss Oluchi Madubuko, 21, an undergraduate, as the winner of its “2016 Miss Ambassador for Peace” beauty pageant.<br /><br />She defeated  23 other contestants  at the event held on Saturday night at the Sheraton Hotels, Abuja.<br />The contestants are drawn from 24 states in the six geo-political zones of the country, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).<br /><br />PAA said  the Abia state-born beauty queen will serve as Ambassador of Peace, preaching the message of peaceful and united Nigeria during her one-year reign as a peace ambassador.<br /><br /><img src="http://i1.wp.com/supremetv.info/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/IMG-20160930-WA0003.jpg?zoom=1.5&resize=280%2C155" /><br />The first and second runners up were also crowned Miss Peace Ambassador Nigeria and Miss Peace Ambassador Africa respectively to work with the new queen in the peace advocacy of the organisation.<br /><br /><img src="http://i0.wp.com/supremetv.info/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/IMG-20160930-WA0005.jpg?zoom=1.5&resize=280%2C38" /><br />Miss Chiamaka Chukwura, who represented the FCT Won Miss Ambassador for Peace International,<br /><img src="http://i2.wp.com/supremetv.info/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/IMG-20160930-WA0000.jpg?zoom=1.5&resize=280%2C38" /><br />Ufondu Anastasia won Miss Ambassador for Peace Africa<br /><br /><img height="176" src="http://i2.wp.com/supremetv.info/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/IMG-20160930-WA0002.jpg?resize=660%2C365" width="320" /><br /><br />Miss Oriunu Faith, representing Nasarawa State, became the Face of Peace Ambassador Agency<br /><br />In her remarks, Madubuko a 400-level Mass Communication student of Abia State University, pledged to make her reign a success.<br /><br />“I am very excited I won the crown, and I promise to make good use of this opportunity given to me by Peace Ambassador Agency.<br /><br />“It has been my desire to be an agent of national peace. Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has announced pop star, 2Face Idibia as ambassador of his new imitative, Violence Free World.<br /><br />The legendary singer was honoured yesterday by the Ife monarch for his #VoteNotFight campaign during electoral periods.<br /><br />Also unveiled as co-ambassadors of the initiative were comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka 1st and entertainment entrepreneur, Cally Ikpe.<br /><br />While unveiling the celebrities as his new initiative brand ambassadors, he said: “I want to stress that you should understand that this role you are given should not be taken with a pinch of salt. You have all shown exemplary acts in the Nigerian entertainment world and over the years, you all have individually and collectively given your voice to ending violence in our world.<br /><br />“I will urge you to strive harder to ensure you preach peace and unity everywhere you go and be an ambassador of the initiative which I believe we youths have to combat the act of terror and violence in the world,” Ooni said.<br /><br />Reacting to the investiture, 2Face said he is glad and honoured to have been noticed by the monarch saying he will do all his best to ensure he preaches peace always.<br /><br />“For me, the Ooni has just exemplified the true essence of the type of monarch we need at this point in Nigeria. Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele's Wife Kidnapped.

<p dir="ltr">A group of heavily armed kidnappers yesterday abducted Margaret Emefiele, the wife of Nigeria’s Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele.</p>
<p dir="ltr">A source close to Mr. Emefiele told SaharaReporters that Mrs. Emefiele was kidnapped along the Benin-Agbor Road.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The source disclosed that the kidnappers have made contact with their victim’s husband, adding that they were demanding a huge sum in ransom.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Mrs. Emefiele’s kidnap represents one of the most high-profile kidnap cases in 2016.</p>

"I ran into him at the Umezurike hospital junction on Wednesday night in the middle of the traffic. He was holding a clutches and one ankle was practically severed from the leg. He was begging for alms. Of course I dropped something into his hand and zoomed off to attend to my own trauma. When I got home something struck me that I could be the 'savior' sent for him. I prayed that I see him the next night. I did. I took his mother's number and scheduled to meet with them the next morning. What I heard from Chibueze and his mother was devastating. A 17 year old young kid struggling with health challenges since birth and getting one pint of blood almost every month. Chibueze has seen hell and is forced to beg every night to supplement his mother's pure water sales. They stopped his treatment and his schooling for several years now. He is a sickle cell patient and the nasty wound on his leg is threatening his immediate survival. I want you to help me save Chibueze. I have undertaken with my family to put Chibueze in a proper medical treatment program which started today and eventually to put him through school. But we need your help. With your help, Chibueze will see his future through Christ our Lord. Amen."<br />

The EFCC arrested Uzodinma Kingsley Agbazue for offences bordering on criminal conspiracy and extortion

<p dir="ltr">The EFCC on Thursday, September 15, 2016, arrested one of its operatives, Uzodinma Kingsley Agbazue for offences bordering on criminal conspiracy and extortion.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Agbazue, a Deputy Detective Superintendent, DDS, was arrested following a complaint by a lawmaker currently under investigation by the Commission, alleging that the operative collected N15million from him with a promise to give him soft landing by compromising the investigation.</p>
<p dir="ltr">According to the complainant, Agbazue allegedly approached him, claiming he had been mandated by the officer handling the case to discuss and reach an agreement on how to “kill the case”. Following the approach, a sum of N15million was given to Agbazue whose game plan collapsed after the Investigating officer, who was ignorant of his scheme, refused to do his bidding. With the investigation gathering increased momentum after parting with the hefty sum, the complainant became uncomfortable and demanded a refund.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The complainant stated that, when he requested for the refund of his money, Agbazue only returned N5million claiming that the balance of N10million had been given to someone “to kill the case from the top”.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The complainant also alleged that the operative collected N1million at a different time as assistance for settlement of his wife’s medical bill. Agbazue’s action is in contravention of the Commission’s mandate and ideals as the EFCC will not solicit or accept gratification from a suspect to compromise a case under investigation. The suspect will be subjected to administrative action as precursor to possible prosecution at the end of the investigation.</p>

<p dir="ltr">A young man has been stabbed to death by three friends due to a disagreement over a girlfriend at Eku in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.</p>
<p dir="ltr">In a tragic incident which occurred on Sunday morning at a popular bar, Blue Sea Restaurant & Bar in Eku near Delta State University Abraka, a 25-year-old man, Matthew Iyede, was stabbed to death by three of his friends due to a disagreement over a ‘girlfriend’ Disclosing the incident to Southern City News, eyewitnesses revealed that the victim died as a result of the injuries he sustained on his chest after he was stabbed several times.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Punch Metro reported that the late Matthew was ambushed by armed youths alleged to have been led by one Ese Uku who have reportedly warned the victim to stay away from the woman, who was identified to be the person Matthew had been dating.</p>

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that most plane crashes in the country were planned and handiwork of Nigerian leaders who he accused of engaging in ritual killing and human sacrifice.

<p dir="ltr">Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that most plane crashes in the country were planned and handiwork of Nigerian leaders who he accused of engaging in ritual killing and human sacrifice.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Fani-Kayode made this allegation on his facebook page in a post on Tuesday in which he said, “Between 2005 and 2006, just before I was redeployed as Minister to the Ministry of Aviation, there were 5 plane crashes in Nigeria in one year.</p>
<p dir="ltr">“453 innocent souls perished in those crashes in that year alone. All of them were man-made and planned. They were sacrifices.”</p>
<p dir="ltr">He declared that some Nigerian leaders are cultists using human blood to appease their gods.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The post reads in full:</p>
<p dir="ltr"><b><i>Most of our leaders are not human. They are what Mr. David Icke, the famous British historian and public speaker, describes as “hybrids” and “reptilians” who are working for a hidden hand and some very dark and sinister forces.</i></b></p>

Patience Jonathan - $31.4m: EFCC Hired Mercenaries Against Me, But Yet To Invite Me

<p dir="ltr">Dame Patience Jonathan, the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of hiring mercenaries to testify in the case of a controversial $31.4 million traced to an account, which she claimed was her own.</p>
<p dir="ltr">So also did Dame Jonathan say on Thursday that the EFCC was yet to invite her for questioning despite her claim that the money in the account belonged to her.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The EFCC, sequel to the discovery of the money, had charged a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Jonathan, Waripamo Dudafa, and two others with money laundering.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Four companies were also charged alongside Dudafa and the two others.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The four companies on Thursday pleaded guilty to conspiring with Dudafa and the two others to launder $15,591,700 before a Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The companies are: Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited, Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Limited, Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The EFCC had since frozen the $15.6 million found in the four companies’ accounts.</p>
<p dir="ltr">But Dame Jonathan said those who pleaded guilty on behalf of the companies were mercenaries hired by the EFCC.</p>
<p dir="ltr">In a statement on Thursday by her media aide, Chima Osuji, Dame Jonathan accused the EFCC of presenting four persons not authorised by the companies’ boards to plead guilty on their behalf.</p>
<p dir="ltr">She said it was a ploy by the EFCC to ensure that her hard-earn money was confiscated.<br>
The ex-President’s wife argued that the EFCC failed to comply with Section 477 (2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 by not presenting to the court on Thursday any letter to show that the four persons were authorised by the companies to represent them.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The statement said: “This is a clear evidence of the desperation of the prosecution to pull down the former First Lady and confiscate her hard-earned money.</p>
<p dir="ltr">“It is an irony that it was the former First Lady who went to court for the repatriation of her confiscated money when she realised that the EFCC and its co-travellers were playing politics with this issue after she had come out publicly to say that the said money belongs to her and that she has all evidence to prove the sources of her money.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Up till this very moment, the EFCC has refused to interrogate or invite her for questioning.</p>
<p dir="ltr">“The biggest twist in court on Thursday was that the fourth to seventh defendants pleaded guilty to all the 15 counts. It is clear that these unknown faces were agents of the EFCC, who have been stage-managed and tutored to come to court to complicate the case as a strategy to confiscate her money.”</p>
